Welcome
Therapy for Adult Individuals and Couples
Are there days when you feel it’s a struggle to even get out of bed? You’d rather just pull the covers up over your head and let the world pass you by? Are you so stressed out at work that you have trouble relaxing even when you’re away from it? Are you struggling in your relationships and you find yourself unhappy all the time?
We aren’t given a manual for happiness and success in our lives and often we don’t know how to help ourselves feel better regardless of the situation. Sometimes we struggle with communicating even with those closest to us; our spouses, our children, close friends. Sometimes we feel like there’s no one we can talk to objectively about our problems. And other times, we have no idea how to even start dealing with a particular problem.
A great therapist can help you address all of these issues, help you figure out how to handle a problem, look at your life objectively, work on your relationships and help you identify and get a handle on your feelings, whether they be anger, sadness, or despair.
Whenever I provide counsel for someone, I try to understand what your needs are in an objective manner. I listen to what your needs and wants are and try to help you arrive at solutions that will enable you to get what you need.
This is also true for couples in therapy. I focus on trying to help each individual really LISTEN to the other partner and together we work on a plan to strengthen the relationship and arrive at resolutions that make sense for each individual and the couple as a whole. Sometimes, one of the biggest issues is communication and learning to develop skills that help you really understand what your partner needs and wants from you and vice versa.
Therapy is a tool that you can use to improve all aspects of your life. If your floors were dirty, you would use a broom and dustpan to sweep them, in the same way, you can use therapy as the tool to dust off your relationships and do a little spring cleaning in your life. Therapy is a great place to stop, slow down, and figure out what's not working in your life. As your therapist, I will work with you to find new and creative ways to approach your problems and find greater satisfaction and happiness in your life.
With over 16 years of experience, my style is interactive. I focus on providing support, understanding, and constructive feedback to my clients. My goal is to help my clients deal with the challenges and obstacles they encounter in their lives in a more positive and effective manner.
I offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each individual. I help my clients explore and understand their issues, build on their strengths, and learn new, more effective coping skills. I really enjoy working with individuals and couples. I am also fully bilingual/bicultural in Spanish.
My goal is to offer excellent service so I try to meet the needs of my clients by offering evening appointments as well as sliding scale fees. Home visits are also available, however, certain restrictions apply for this service so please feel free to call me if you have any questions.
